Police in San Bernardino, California claim they have a suspect in custody
following a triple-
murder, which occurred Friday morning (May 16) outside a hookah lounge in Southern
According to The Riverside Press Enterprise, a Moreno Valley man with supposed
gang ties is the prime suspect in this case. In a recent news release,
officials said the suspect was allegedly apprehended by San Bernardino
Police officers in a local motel. It was unclear by Saturday afternoon
(May 17) if the suspect had given information to police or retained an
attorney for this case.
Police also claim that around 60 people were present in the parking lot
at the time of the shooting. Police additionally claimed that the suspect
got into a four-door burgundy sedan after fleeing the scene of the crime.
This high-profile case is making news headlines all across Southern California
and has even been covered by national news sources, such as The Associated Press.
In the California criminal justice system, there is no more serious situation
than being formally charged with one or more homicides. A conviction of
murder on a single count can result in a lifetime prison sentence without
the possibility of parole. A conviction for multiple murders can land
a person on death row. A high-profile criminal complaint, such as the
aforementioned case can create challenges in the legal system for a defendant.
Therefore, an experienced defense strategy must be utilized, as it is the
right of every person charged with a crime to do so. A seasoned attorney
with knowledge of the California criminal laws can do the tough job of
investigating and preparing a defense in the event of a major criminal
complaint, such as the triple-murder case mentioned above.
