The Challenge
During a coordinated raid targeting a drug trafficking group, law enforcement searched multiple residences and arrested eight individuals. Our client was arrested and charged with being armed with a firearm while in possession of approximately 160 pounds of marijuana with intent to sell. Given the combination of a large quantity of narcotics and the presence of a firearm, the client faced a significant mandatory prison sentence if convicted.
Our Strategy
We conducted an independent investigation into the law enforcement procedures used during the raid. Our analysis uncovered major legal improprieties regarding the search and seizure process. By presenting these constitutional violations to the prosecutor, we demonstrated that the evidence was obtained unlawfully. As a result, the District Attorney agreed to a full dismissal of all charges.
