Prison Avoided After a Felony DUI Accident with Injuries

Temecula

The Challenge

A young adult was charged with felony DUI causing injury after losing control of her vehicle while speeding on a winding road. The accident resulted in serious injuries to her passengers. Given the severity of the injuries and the nature of the crash, the client faced a multi-year sentence in state prison and a permanent felony record.

Our Strategy

We focused on humanizing the client by presenting a detailed mitigation package that highlighted her lack of a prior record and her commitment to rehabilitation. By negotiating the specific terms of the sentencing with the District Attorney, we successfully advocated for an alternative to a lengthy incarceration. The case was resolved with probation and house arrest after only minimal custody time, successfully avoiding a substantial prison sentence.

The Result

PRISON AVOIDED; PROBATION AND HOUSE ARREST
