A young adult was charged with reckless driving following an incident where a vehicle he was allegedly racing crashed and rolled over. Because the incident involved an accident, the prosecution was initially focused on the more serious criminal classification of the offense.
Our Strategy
We challenged the evidence linking the client’s driving to the cause of the accident, identifying key inconsistencies in the police reports. By demonstrating that the prosecution could not meet the burden of proof for a criminal conviction, we successfully negotiated a reduction of the case. The criminal charge was downgraded to a simple speeding ticket, preserving the client’s clean criminal record.
